  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Tongs
  • Fork

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season beef cubes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Sear the beef in batches until browned on all sides. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, honey, Italian herbs, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Place the seared beef in the slow cooker.
  • Pour the garlic butter sauce over the beef, ensuring that everything is well coated.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the beef is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  • Once the beef is cooked, shred it with two forks directly in the slow cooker.
  • Stir to coat the shredded beef with the garlic butter sauce.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, whisk together 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Adjust the amount of garlic, honey, or red pepper flakes to suit your taste preferences. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave.
