Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden Spoon
  • 9x9-inch baking dish
  • Oven-safe spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Crumbled bacon (optional topping)
  • Chopped green onions (optional topping)
  • Crushed red pepper (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in ranch seasoning until the beef is evenly coated.
  • In a bowl, whisk together milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
  • Add cooked macaroni to the skillet with beef. Pour in the creamy mixture and stir to coat evenly.
  • Transfer mixture to a greased 9x9-inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with bacon, green onions, or crushed red pepper if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Use slightly undercooked pasta so it finishes cooking in the oven. For extra creaminess, stir in cream cheese. Let it rest 5 minutes after baking to thicken.
