Equipment

  • Small bowl
  • Milk frother (handheld, immersion, or stand mixer with whisk attachment)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk whole milk preferred
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or brown sugar simple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Coffee or other beverage for serving

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and salt. Ensure everything is well combined and there are no clumps of pumpkin puree. The mixture should be a light orange color and smell wonderfully of pumpkin spice.
  • Froth the mixture: Using your milk frother, froth the mixture until it's thick and foamy. This usually takes about 30-60 seconds, depending on your frother. If using a handheld frother, move it up and down in the bowl to incorporate air. If using an immersion frother, pulse it a few times to avoid splattering. If using a stand mixer, whisk on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
  • Taste and adjust: Taste the foam and adjust the sweetness or spice level to your liking. Add more maple syrup for sweetness or pumpkin pie spice for more spice.
  • Spoon over your favorite drink: Gently spoon the Pumpkin Cold Foam over your favorite iced coffee, latte, or even a cold brew.
  • Enjoy immediately: For the best experience, enjoy your Pumpkin Cold Foam immediately. The foam will start to dissolve over time.

Notes

For best results, use cold heavy cream and milk. Don't over-froth; stop when the mixture is thick and foamy but still pourable. Adjust sweetness to your preference. For a vegan version, use coconut cream instead of heavy cream and your favorite plant-based milk. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but re-froth before serving as the foam will deflate over time. Don't freeze.
