Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Grill, skillet, or baking sheet
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Meat thermometer
  • Toaster (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 sandwich rolls or slices of your favorite bread
  • 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
  • Optional: Tomato slices
  • Optional: Bacon slices

Instructions

  • Season the Chicken: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture evenly over the chicken breasts. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge or proceed immediately.
  • Cook the Chicken: Grill, pan-fry in a skillet over medium heat, or bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) until cooked through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Slice or Shred the Chicken: Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing or shredding it.
  • Make the Caesar Dressing: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Season to Taste: Add salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the amounts of lemon juice or Parmesan cheese to your preference. For a thinner dressing, add a little milk or water, one teaspoon at a time.
  • Toast the Bread (Optional): Lightly toast the sandwich rolls or bread slices.
  • Layer the Ingredients: Spread a generous amount of Caesar dressing on both sides of the bread. Then, layer on the chopped romaine lettuce, followed by the sliced or shredded chicken.
  • Add Parmesan and Tomato (Optional): Sprinkle some extra Parmesan cheese over the chicken and add tomato slices if desired. Add bacon if desired.
  • Top it Off: Place the top slice of bread on the sandwich and press down gently.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Cut the sandwich in half (if desired) and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked perfectly. Pounding the chicken breasts to an even thickness helps them cook more evenly. Homemade Caesar dressing is recommended, but a good quality store-bought dressing can be used as a substitute. Experiment with different bread types such as crusty rolls, sourdough bread, or ciabatta. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicy kick. Slices of fresh avocado can be added for a creamy twist.
