Equipment

  • Large mixing bowls
  • Hand mixer or whisk
  • 9x13-inch dish
  • Rubber spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ½ cups cold water
  • 1 3.4 oz package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, cold water, and pudding mix until smooth. Let it chill for about 5 minutes to thicken.
  • In another bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • Gently fold whipped cream into the pudding mixture. This gives it that cloud-like texture.
  • Start with vanilla wafers at the bottom, add banana slices, and spread a layer of pudding.
  • Keep layering until you reach the top of your dish, finishing with pudding.
  • Crush a few wafers and sprinkle them over the top for a pretty, nostalgic finish.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For extra nostalgia, crush vanilla wafers over the top before serving. Chill overnight for the best texture. Want a twist? Swap whipped cream for Cool Whip or add a layer of meringue.
