Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Spoon
  • Small bowl
  • Microwave or stovetop
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • pizza cutter or knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried parsley
  • 6-8 slices cheddar cheese
  • Sesame seeds optional
  • Flour, for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside to cool slightly.
  • In a small bowl, melt butter in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  • Add minced garlic, garlic powder, and dried parsley to the melted butter. Stir well to combine.
  • Unroll pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.
  • Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut the dough into 6-8 equal-sized rectangles.
  • Spread a thin layer of the beef mixture evenly over each rectangle of dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Top the beef with a slice of cheddar cheese.
  • Carefully roll up each rectangle, starting from one end, to form a tight roll. Pinch the seams to seal them closed.
  • Place the rollups seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush the tops of the rollups with the garlic butter.
  • Sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds, if desired.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rollups are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the rollups cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Don't overfill the rollups, or they may burst open during baking. Store leftover rollups in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. Try different types of cheese or add jalapenos for a spicy kick. Serve with ketchup, mustard, ranch dressing, or your favorite burger sauce.
