  • Measuring cups
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Meat thermometer
  • Paper towels

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Stir in the fresh parsley, dried thyme, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  • Pour half of the garlic butter mixture over the chicken, ensuring each breast is well coated.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Baste the chicken with the remaining garlic butter halfway through the baking time.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, brown the butter before adding the garlic and herbs. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken during the last few minutes of baking for a cheesy crust. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter for a touch of heat. Substitute olive oil for butter for a dairy-free option. If chicken breasts are uneven, pound them lightly with a meat mallet to ensure even cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
