Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Wok
  • Large pot
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Colander
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Spatula or tongs

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 lb egg noodles
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the cubed chicken with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix well and let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  • Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Salt the water generously. Drain the noodles and set aside.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly.
  • Pour in the cornstarch slurry and stir continuously until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet with the sticky garlic sauce. Toss to coat the chicken evenly in the sauce.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and chicken.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds (if desired).
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute tofu for the chicken. Coconut aminos can be used as a lower-sodium alternative to soy sauce. Add vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas for extra nutrients. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water or chicken broth to prevent drying.
