Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups
  • Tortilla warmer or microwave

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or blend
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6-8 large tortillas
  • Optional toppings: Chopped tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, salsa, avocado

Instructions

  • In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until cooked through and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  • Stir in the softened cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Add the shredded cheese and stir until melted and delicious.
  • Warm the tortillas according to package directions.
  • Spoon the cheesy garlic chicken mixture onto the center of each tortilla.
  • Add any desired toppings, such as chopped tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, or avocado.
  • Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly.
  • Cut the wraps in half (optional) and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier wrap, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot sauce. Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting results. Cook the chicken mixture ahead of time and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Try variations like Mediterranean with feta and olives, Buffalo with buffalo sauce and blue cheese, or BBQ with BBQ sauce and coleslaw.
