Notes

For an ultra-creamy hot chocolate, use a whisk instead of a spoon. Avoid boiling the milk to prevent scorching. A tiny pinch of cayenne pepper can add subtle warmth. For a smoother texture, carefully blend the hot chocolate in a blender until frothy. Store leftover hot chocolate in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently. Consider using different types of chocolate, like dark or milk chocolate, to customize the flavor. For peppermint hot chocolate, add a few drops of peppermint extract while simmering. For salted caramel hot chocolate, drizzle caramel sauce and sprinkle sea salt on top. For mocha hot chocolate, add a shot of espresso or a tablespoon of instant coffee.
