Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • small mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • pizza cutter or knife
  • pastry brush
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese for topping
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley for topping
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Lightly flour a clean surface.
  • Unroll the pizza dough on the floured surface. If using crescent roll dough, pinch the seams together to create a solid sheet.
  • Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into 12 equal squares.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
  • Place a spoonful (about 1 tablespoon) of the cheese mixture in the center of each dough square.
  • Bring the corners of each square up and pinch them together to seal, forming a little ball. Make sure the cheese filling is completely enclosed.
  • Place the cheesy bites, seam-side down, on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Parmesan cheese (for topping), and dried parsley.
  • Brush the tops of the cheesy bites with the butter mixture.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the bites cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving.

Notes

To prevent cheese leakage, ensure the dough is sealed tightly. If the dough is too sticky, use more flour on your hands and work surface. For variations, consider adding cooked bacon, sausage, or vegetables like spinach or bell peppers to the filling. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
