Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Spatula
  • Fork
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 large burrito-size tortillas

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Cook chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Remove from skillet and let cool slightly.
  • Shred the chicken with two forks and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Stir in cream cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Lay out tortillas on a flat surface.
  • Spread a generous amount of garlic butter sauce over each tortilla.
  • Top with shredded chicken and mozzarella cheese. Do not overfill.
  • Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up tightly.
  • Heat a clean skillet over medium heat.
  • Place the wraps in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Press down gently with a spatula to ensure even browning.
  • Remove the wraps from the skillet and let them cool slightly before serving.
  • Cut in half and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chopped sun-dried tomatoes to the cream cheese mixture or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce. Grill the wraps after assembling for a crispy exterior. Serve with marinara sauce, a simple green salad, sweet potato fries, coleslaw, or tomato soup. Leftover chicken or rotisserie chicken can be used to save time. Wraps can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet or microwave.
