Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups
  • Large skillet or griddle
  • Spatula
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk
  • Meat thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef 80/20 blend
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet Pickle Relish
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon White Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Sugar
  • 12 Slider Buns Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup Shredded Lettuce Iceberg
  • ½ cup Diced Onion White or Yellow
  • 6 slices American Cheese, quartered
  • Dill Pickle Chips

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Don't overmix.
  • Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions. Roll the mixture into a log and cut into 12 even slices.
  • Form each portion into a small, thin patty, slightly larger than your slider buns.
  • Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  • Place the patties on the hot skillet, leaving some space between them.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the patties are cooked through and nicely browned. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  • In the last minute of cooking, place a quarter slice of American cheese on each patty to melt.
  • While the patties are cooking, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and sugar in a small bowl. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  • Slice the slider buns in half.
  • Spread a generous amount of the "special" sauce on the bottom bun.
  • Top with shredded lettuce and diced onion.
  • Place a cheeseburger patty on top of the lettuce and onion.
  • Add dill pickle chips.
  • Spread a little more "special" sauce on the top bun and place it on top of the pickles.
  • Repeat until all sliders are assembled.

Notes

For best results, don't overcrowd the pan while cooking the patties to ensure proper browning. Lightly toasting the slider buns adds texture and prevents sogginess. The special sauce tastes even better if made ahead of time, allowing the flavors to meld. Store assembled sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, or store patties and toppings separately for longer storage. Reheat the patties in a skillet or microwave and reassemble with fresh buns and toppings.
