  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 3-4 ripe bananas, sliced

  • Optional: chopped nuts pecans or walnuts
  • Optional: shredded coconut
  • Optional: chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and cold milk until well combined.
  • Let the pudding mixture sit for about 5 minutes to thicken completely.
  • Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping into the pudding mixture until everything is evenly combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Gently fold in the sliced bananas. If desired, toss the banana slices with lemon juice or pineapple juice to prevent browning.
  • In a large bowl or trifle dish, layer the vanilla wafers, banana pudding mixture, and more sliced bananas. You can create multiple layers.
  • Cover the bowl or trifle dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  • Before serving, garnish with extra vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, mini marshmallows, chopped nuts, or any other toppings you desire.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use ripe but firm bananas. Chilling the fluff salad for at least 2 hours allows the flavors to meld and the vanilla wafers to soften. To prevent browning, toss sliced bananas with lemon or pineapple juice. This recipe is highly customizable – feel free to add other fruits, nuts, or candies to your liking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, although the vanilla wafers may become soft. For a boozy twist, add a splash of banana liqueur or rum to the pudding mixture.
