Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Tongs
  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 large flour tortillas burrito size
  • 8 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • Optional: fresh basil leaves
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed chicken with olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Make sure the chicken is evenly coated with the seasonings.
  • Lay out the flour tortillas on a clean surface.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over each tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Place the seasoned chicken on one half of each tortilla.
  • Top the chicken with two slices of fresh mozzarella cheese per wrap.
  • Fold the tortilla in half, pressing gently to seal.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the assembled wraps in the air fryer basket, being careful not to overcrowd them. You may need to cook them in batches.
  • Air fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Carefully remove the wraps from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute or two before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves, grated Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes, if desired.

Notes

Don't overcrowd the air fryer for crispy tortillas. Use quality mozzarella for best flavor. Don't overfill the wraps to prevent leaks. Adjust cooking time as needed based on your air fryer. For extra crispy tortillas, lightly spray with olive oil before air frying. Sautéed onions, bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms can be added for extra flavor. Provolone, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack cheese are good substitutes for mozzarella. Try pesto, BBQ sauce, or a creamy garlic sauce instead of marinara. Cooked wraps can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer or microwave.
